Lenwood Coleman
Lenwood Coleman: Leading with Experience and VisionLenwood Coleman, Chief Executive Officer of Venture One, brings over 20 years of leadership in business management, project delivery, and community outreach. As a U.S. Veteran, Lenwood applies his experience in capital budgeting, quality control, and operational excellence to guide Venture One’s national programs and initiatives.
Before founding Venture One, Lenwood honed his expertise working in Federal Government services, where he successfully generated and implemented grants and contracts. Prior to that, he proudly served nine years in the U.S. Air Force as an Information Manager, specializing in finance, audiovisual, information management, and safety.
Lenwood’s exceptional service earned him numerous honors, including the Air Force Commendation and Achievement Medals, the Distinguished Graduate Award, and the Commandants Award, among others. His commitment to excellence and impactful leadership continues to define his approach at Venture One.
D. Wesley Thorn
D. Wesley Thorn: Senior Advisor with 20+ Years of IT ExpertiseWesley Thorn serves as Senior Advisor on the Venture One Board, bringing over 30 years of federal and private sector experience in information technology. With a rich background in website development, design, optimization, and web management, Wes has consistently stayed ahead of trends to enhance digital operations and compliance.
Starting his career as a systems manager, overseeing the daily operations of a computer appointment system, Wes has since built a reputation for innovation in web technologies. He is also a successful entrepreneur, having founded and managed multiple thriving businesses, where he continues to provide strategic oversight.
A graduate of American University (BA in Broadcasting) and Howard University (MA in Mass Communication), Wes has recently completed a federal management cohort, further honing his leadership and capacity-building skills.
Randal Leonard
Randal Leonard: Chief Financial Officer of VentureOne.
Randal Leonard serves as the CFO of Venture One, bringing over two decades of financial management expertise. With extensive experience in both academic and corporate settings, Randal excels in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and managing large-scale budgets. At Bowie State University, he served as Assistant Controller, managing $50 million in grants and preparing financial reports for lending agencies. His prior roles as General Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant honed his skills in reconciliations, financial reporting, and operational procedure development.
Randal holds a wealth of experience in overseeing daily financial activities, preparing year-end statements, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. His leadership and keen attention to detail have been instrumental in driving financial success and operational efficiency across all organizations he’s served.
